    Provincial

Our parks come complete with mountains FOR PANORAMIC VIEWS

Our two provincial parks are very different but have a lot in common. Both are "Best of Appalachian" attractions. Both are named after mountains. Both have a lot to offer. But Mount Carleton takes the cake for biggest and has the highest peak in the Maritimes, rising a majestic 820 m (2,690 ft.). It's also the wildest, with lots of wildlife and more than 100 species of birds seen in the area, plus a number of rare plants, such as Alpine blueberries. With gorgeous lakes and rivers to paddle, challenging mountain trails as well as forest paths, this park gives everyone a chance to get far far away from the everyday. The beauty of Sugarloaf Provincial Park is that it's so close to civilization. (You can hike there from Campbellton!) But it's big enough to offer over 25 km (16 mi.) of hiking and biking trails. Try its lift service for mountain bikes - it's the only one in Atlantic Canada. You can swim, paddleboat, camp, ski, snowshoe, skate or toboggan depending on the season. Enjoy the best of all worlds in our extraordinary provincial parks!
