The variety of hand-made crafts has been exploding over recent years. Perhaps we're all a little tired of mass-produced objects. Perhaps more and more creative people are excited by old art forms. Whatever is going on, the revival means you'll have a tough time picking and choosing between all the wonderful things our artisans have created for you.

Ever wonder why covered bridges were built? Two practical reasons are often given. A roof and sides greatly extend the lifespan of a wooden bridge. And, since it looks like a barn, cows can be convinced to cross! We can think of a third reason: our visitors love the history behind these old-fashioned "kissing bridges".

As you travel the Fundy Coastal Drive, keep your eyes peeled for steeples. There are many old, charming and historic churches along the coast, testament to the faithes of our forefathers. Stop by the Municipal Visitor Information Centres for local directions.

Make your list! There's absolutely nothing you won't find in the hurley-burley mayhem of our Saturday morning farmers markets. Everything is fresh off the farm, out of the sea, the kitchen, or the studio. If you're new to farmers market shopping, you may find everything in the grocery store seems to pale in comparison.

Yes, it's true, you'll see gardens everywhere you go. Beautiful municipal plantings and flowers, historical sites where gardens have been cultivated with care and marvelous private gardens overflowing with baskets and blooms. But you haven't seen anything until you've visited the jewel in our gardening crown.

Bringing our heritage to life by first preserving places of historical importance and then making sure that the sites work to engage our visitors is a labour of love for us. We want you to experience magic when you step back in time. Suddenly you can see how our forefathers lived, worked, fought and played. You'll never see modern life the same.

You can't help but love these proud reminders of our seafaring history. They seem so brave and stalwart standing on the edge of wind-whipped rocky precipices to guard sailors and welcome visitors.

You don't have to wait for a rainy day to plan a trip to our museums. (They're exciting enough to compete with our other attractions all on their own!) Three of them are "Best of Fundy" attractions and highly recommended to connect with our history, culture, flora and fauna... and passion for chocolate!

Nature is certainly all around you on the spectacular Fundy coast, but sometimes it's really good to let an expert interpret it for you. For instance, you can't visit the Atlantic Salmon Interpretive Centre without developing a healthy new respect for this amazing fish.

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll applaud like crazy! We have some very professional theatre companies that really know how to please an audience. Take the time to take a seat and let the players take you away!

If the kids promise to be very, very good, we have a good number of treats you can promise them. (Magic Mountain Water Park or Crystal Palace Amusement Park are just two of the kid-thrilling places you might want to mention if they start to bicker in the backseat while you're driving...)

You may be pleasantly surprised by all the delicious products our wineries are concocting. One Magnetic Hill Winery selection, "Bay of Fundy Blue" made from wild New Brunswick blueberries, would make a wonderful gift to bring home.

Simon and Garfunkel had it right: "It's all happening at the zoo." If it has fur, scales, fins, tentacles or hoofs, you'll probably find it at one of our two zoos or popular aquarium.
