CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL… (and wet)
When it comes to zoos and aquariums, well let's just say Noah's Ark never had this kind of variety. In fact, Cherry Brook Zoo and Vanished Kingdom Park is the first accredited zoo in Atlantic Canada dealing only in exotic and endangered-animal species.
The Magnetic Hill Zoo has a diverse collection of animals from every corner of the globe, including a variety of lemurs from Madagascar, Gibbon apes and Tiny-fanged deer from China, Cotton-top tamarins, lions, jaguars, and zebras. (oh my!) Explore the life aquatic at the New Brunswick Aquarium and Marine Centre – Atlantic Canada’s largest public aquarium. (Tip: keep an eye out for the rare Blue lobster.) Or visit the Huntsman Marine Science Centre Aquarium/Museum featuring live animals from nearby rivers, lakes, estuaries and marine coastal waters. One of the main attractions is a large touch-pool with many living marine invertebrates like crabs, mollusks, sea stars, sea urchins, sea cucumbers and anemones. Handle with care!
