Fundy National Park’s Trip Tip

Anna Holdaway, Fundy National Park of Canada interpreter, invites you to become a Tidal Artist. When the Bay of Fundy’s giant tides go out, what artistic possibilities they leave behind! You can help Anna and local artist Karin Bach create an ephemeral (short-lived) sculpture out of natural objects found on the beach. Then come back later to watch the next high tide sweep it away. Bring a camera, or check the Fundy Guild website or Fundy Park website for each week’s masterpiece.

The natural landscape, a marriage of the marine coastal environment of the Bay of Fundy and the Caledonia Highlands plateau (part of the Appalachian Mountain range), combined with over 120 km (75 mi.) of walking and hiking trails, makes for a perfect family vacation destination. Plan to participate in one of the many interpretive programs… you may even have a chance to create tidal art!

Kouchibouguac’s Trip Tip

This tour brings visitors to one of Kouchibouguac National Park of Canada’s most amazing areas. Join park interpreters on the voyageur canoe outing to see colonies of terns and seals, learn about the local cultural and natural heritage of the area while gliding over the lagoons in a 10- passenger canoe. Experience the voyageur canoe for yourself… it’s worth the effort. Reservations are required and a light snack is provided. Contact the information centre for schedules and fees at 506-876-1224.

Kouchibouguac National Park offers winter wonderland experiences that you can enjoy day after day while you camp in a rustic shelter. The cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails will have you exploring kilometres of scenic landscapes and the sliding hill is always a popular activity with everyone. At day’s end, warm up with around a campfire while sipping cocoa and roasting marshmallows.
