    Miramichi River Route

    Robert Squarebriggs Trip Tip

    Robert Squarebriggs

“It has a magic to it that is restorative and restful”

As for a travel tip, or hidden gem: Sheephouse Falls! A wonderfully secluded walking trail in the forest North of Miramichi, it has a magic to it that is restful and restorative. The area is crisscrossed with a series of trails that take you to various viewing sites around the falls and have stairs to allow you to descend to the bottom and view the falls from the bottom as well. The children will have a great time identifying the outline of the kneeling Indian in the rock at the bottom of the falls, part of the legend of the Native Peoples of the area.

DISCOVER A MAGICAL RIVER where salmon is king and princes and presidents come to play

Favourite moments along this lively river route are likely to include world-famous salmon fishing, foot-stomping festivals and classic Maritime kitchen parties. The mighty Miramichi River and its Atlantic salmon-rich waters are world-famous, attracting royalty, prime ministers, presidents, rock stars and Hollywood icons to cast a line into its legendary waters. As such, storytelling is deeply ingrained in the roots of this region, just like the tradition of musical kitchen parties. Come meet the local "folks," have your "say," and listen while the tales unfold.
