Best to plan around our "BEST OF MIRAMICHI" Attractions

Our "Best of Miramichi" attractions are a fantastic way to get a feel for the history and culture of the Miramichi River Route. (And more than that, they're just plain fun!) So make a point of getting over to Ritchie Wharf Park in the city of Miramichi. Head for the ship's masts rising out of the wooden boardwalk. It's a nod to its past life as a major shipbuilding centre. Want to know more about shipbuiding? Head to Beaubears Island Shipbuilding National Historic Site of Canada: The only known undisturbed archeological site associated with national significance of the 19th-century wooden-shipbuilding industry in New Brunswick. Get an up-close-and-personal look at "the king of fish" thanks to the Atlantic Salmon Museum in Doaktown. Want the true ghost story behind the Dungarvon Whooper? Visit the Central New Brunswick Woodmen's Museum in Boiestown. It's the only way we know to get a real feel for the life led by brave woodsmen of old. In Red Bank at the Metepenagiag Heritage Park, you can go much farther back -- 3,000 years (more or less!) in an interactive interpretive centre that was built beside two National Historic Sites, the Oxbow and the Augustine Mound.
