Our local Natural Wonder is the majestic Miramichi River itself, all 250 meandering km (155 mi.) of it. It's home to the king of fish, as well as anglers, canoeists and nature lovers of all kinds.
Our municipal parks run the gamut from a waterfront park with a playground, shops and boat launching facilities to a lovely green space with BBQ pits, picnic tables and walking trails to a skateboarding park.
The city of Miramichi's spirited approach to life has given it a reputation as festival central with entertainment on tap all summer long, while Fredericton makes a great hub from which to explore the "other end" of this beautiful and historic route. Either way, it's only two hours between these unique cities.
Scattered along this mythic river are some small towns, villages and even tinier communities that invite you to stop and explore. This is where you find the essence of Miramichi's downhome hospitality.
