The city of Fredericton’s premier performing arts venue was given to the people of Fredericton in 1964 by publishing baron, Lord Beaverbrook. In 1969 the Playhouse gave birth to Theatre New Brunswick, one of Canada’s leading regional, professional English-speaking theatre companies. Thirty years later in 2000, the Fredericton Playhouse was fully revamped and today offers diverse, world-class performances while exposing the community to new and exciting performances - everything from dance to music to theatre.
