Beaverbrook Art Gallery

Walk through the Gallery's glass doors and be introduced to a world of incredible regional, national and international works of art.

Come face-to-face with the awe-inspiring Santiago El Grande, an oil on canvas painting created by Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dalí. In 2010 the iconic masterpiece was on loan to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta Georgia for the exhibition Salvador Dalí: The Late Work. The exhibition drew more than 270,000 attendees looking to catch a glimpse of this magnificent work of art, now back on display at The Beaverbrook Art Gallery.

Also on permanent display is an extensive collection of paintings by Cornelius Krieghoff and the Lucile Pillow collection of English porcelain. The gallery enjoys an international reputation for its outstanding collection of British paintings from the Elizabethan to the modern era, including works by Thomas Gainsborough, John Constable and J.M.W. Turner.

You can get lost for hours gazing at works from the late Renaissance period, Aubusson and Gobelin tapestries, and European furniture and decorative arts. The gallery also houses an impressive collection of work by major Atlantic-Canadian artists, including Molly Lamb Bobak and Bruno Bobak, Mary Pratt and Alex Colville. Contemporary Acadian artists such as Marie-Hélène Allain and Yvon Gallant, among many others, are also represented.

Bring out your “inner artist” with one of the hands-on programs offered for children and adults alike. Or, if you prefer, simply stroll the gallery and get lost in the quiet beauty of your surroundings.
