New Brunswick seems to be invented for biking. For at least half the year you can ride our extraordinary trails and explore the different seasons. Sentier NB Trail systems will give you lots of great options if you want to do a bike tour. Bring your own ride, or rent one.
Birders have been flocking here as long as the birds. (Coincidence?) The St. John River offers our feathered friends excellent migration route stopovers (with the tasty snacks they're looking for), and many birds call it home. From sleek birds of prey to colourful waterfowl, you're in luck.
Ahoy there, matey! Choose a captain, beg, borrow or rent a pleasure craft (aptly named!) and set off on the St. John River. (You drive beside it, drive over it, and around it but you must absolutely find a way to get ON it.)
Whether you're travelling with a tent and a couple of sleeping bags or a motorhome with all the modern conveniences, you're in good company! de la République Provincial Park and Mactaquac Provincial Park roll out the red carpet with acres of campsites and amenities.
Ever slipped into a kayak at dawn and watched osprey diving for fish right off your bow? Or startled a muskrat emerging from his burrow? Oh, the extraordinary wonders you'll see as you paddle up or downstream on our historic river.
The St. John River is famous for its bass - check locally for bass tournaments or the best spots to fish such as the Mactaquac Headpond.
Pack your golf bag… you'll find lots of chances to play. Tee off at the fabulous Kingswood, recognized twice by Golf Digest since it opened in 2003 or Mactaquac Provincial Park which has earned rave reviews from golf experts. (Or any of 19 other courses along the route.)
Whether you just want to walk the dog along a little piece of paradise or prefer to lace up hiking boots and challenge yourself with paths less travelled, we've got your trails! Sentier NB Trail systems have all the info you need to choose the right one.
Bear, deer, moose, game birds and waterfowl. Those are just some of the abundant game awaiting you in our forests, meadows and marshes. Numerous hunting outfitters can give you everything you need for a memorable, successful hunting getaway.
Our scenic river valley is equally panoramic come winter when new opportunities to play outside present themselves, thanks to our awesome snow coverage. Skiers of the alpine or cross-country persuasion, take note! (Snowboarders, too!)
When the world is covered in a blanket of white, it's time to go snowmobiling! Those of you who know the joys of scooting through winter wonderlands of snow, know that the Scenic River Valley's famous trails get lots of the white stuff.
Quick! Tell us! When is the last time you took the time to truly pamper yourself? If you are overdue, then we've got some great suggestions for luxurious getaways that will rejuvenate your spirit, let you rekindle the flames of romance, or both!
You won't have to pressure anyone to take the plunge at our fantastic beaches. Whether you like sandy beaches or heated pools, we've got glorious Provincial Parks just for you, and many more places to take a freshwater dip.
