    Beaches

YOU CAN GET FRESH WITH US (Go for a swim!)

One of the joys of having so much pristine wilderness is easy access to crystal-clear freshwater swimming beaches. Pure fun and refreshment await you on every section of the drive. Many beaches, including the popular Lac Baker which offers swimming, fishing, picnic areas, volleyball and tennis, are absolutely free. Others have a small charge. Some beaches like that at Mactaquac Provincial Park are right beside camping areas where you'll rub shoulders with people all across the continent, others are municipal beaches where you'll be able to chat with local residents taking a break. Some, like Kiwanis Oak Point Campground and Park Beach, come complete with the tallest lighthouse on the St. John River system and 100-year old oaks for shade. Others connect with trails or offer beach volleyball and other activities.

    Freshwater Beaches

Come on in! The water's fine at our fabulous freshwater beaches. We have 12 beaches along the way to get you in the swim of things. (Actually, there are no saltwater beaches on the River Valley Scenic Drive, just in case you were wondering...)
