The Saint John Ale House celebrates our rich history but also brings some trendy fun foods and beers to the forefront of what’s happening in Uptown Saint John. I used to come down here as a kid and I love being able to rejuvenate the area.

5 Tips from Peter Stoddard

Look for local support. “We’ve really had great local support, “says Peter. “Moosehead Brewery is less than 10 minutes from here and they’ve been great to work with over the years.”

Use local ingredients. “We use locally sourced organic beef, cheese from Sussex and even the flour is ground at Speerville – just outside of Woodstock,” says Peter.

Gain some notoriety. “Our Chef Jesse Vergen has been on a couple of television show,” says Peter. “We made a ginormous lobster roll and that made us a little famous.”

Celebrate often. “There’s entertainment all of the time,” says Peter. “We have Saint John Idol, Buskers Festival, Canada Day, Beer Gardens and fireworks!”

Embrace your history. “Saint John has lot of history, “says Peter. “ I’m not a buff but I discover something new every day.”
