Bouctouche Shellfish Festival

Come and join us for this festive event, a week full of music, activities, fun, games and shellfish!

The community gathers to celebrate with various activities that are part of the town’s traditions, including softball and poker tournaments, youth activities, music nights and a breakfast at the gun club. A lighted boat parade and spectacular fireworks end the festival.

There is also an oyster shucking competition with oyster sampling on site and a favourite dish contest. The cooks from the area can be proud of the precious knowledge they have passed along and preserved over the years.  The culinary activities are about the roots of the shellfish festival; no gastronomy, but authentic food.

The festival is celebrated along with Acadian Day events, on August 15, a day packed with activities for all tastes, including the world’s second biggest Acadian Tintamarre!
