Now accessible for the first time this is sure to become a favorite Fundy stop. At low tide the beach extends for 500 meters into the bay so you can truly walk on the ocean floor. The 2.5 km beach is sandy and the shoreline is rimmed with an interesting array of cobbled rocks. Picnic shelters and washrooms, along with interpretation panels are found here. Pack a picnic and plan to spend the day. There are also three discovery beaches including Melvin, Pangburn and Big Salmon River beaches that are ideal to explore. There are lots of other things to see and do along the Fundy Trail Parkway in addition to “beach time”. Try a kayak tour or check out the multi-use trail, enjoy stunning views from over 20 lookouts, a suspension bridge, and waterfalls. Learn about local history at the Interpretive Center and ask about coastal interpretation, guided walks and other programs.
Just minutes away there are accommodations and restaurants in St. Martins.
