Mount Carleton Provincial Park hosts an awe-inspiring event each summer that will bring your inner explorer to new heights. Part of the New Brunswick Provincial Parks Get Outside NB! program, Seek the Highest Peak is a unique day for nature lovers and hikers to adventure together.
Parks Natural Leaders will guide you up the Mount Carleton Trail, which at 820 metres (2,690 feet) is the highest peak in the Maritimes. On a clear day atop Mount Carleton, you can see a view of 10 million trees! You will trek through Acadian forest, forge mountain streams and traverse scree and rock outcrops in a land of dwarfed alpine trees to the reach the summit. Parks Natural Leaders will be there for support and expertise throughout the day, both on the trail and at the trailhead with park information plus snacks and water.
