Town of Tracadie

Bursting with energy and warm Acadian hospitality, this quaint seaside community offers many fun-filled vacation activities and lots of joie de vivre. Nestled between two rivers with a lovely view of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Tracadie is your holiday “hot spot” on the Acadian Peninsula.

In the heart of the peninsula, Tracadie is a prime location for fishing, hiking, camping and a variety of watersports. Find that special spot on Val-Comeau Beach and spend a few hours basking in the sun.

The Acadian Coastal Trail begins in town and pushes northward over the low-lying salt marshes that characterize the peninsula. Long sections of trail provide ample opportunity to birdwatch amid the berry fields and wild flowers as fishing vessels ply the waters offshore.

Downtown, visit the market with its tantalizing aromas, and browse the aisles of homemade pastries, dried spices, local crafts, specialty items and fresh-ground coffee being sold by local vendors. Lively local music provides a musical background as you browse.

The Acadian spirit lives on each year with the Ruée Tracadie, a lively downtown festival which celebrates the region where everyone is invited to join the fun. Just a few of the many activities include live music, local exhibitions, an illuminated boat parade and a stunning fireworks display.
