Village of Nigadoo

The village of Nigadoo lies just north of Bathurst. The Mi'gmaq people discovered the natural shelter provided by the banks of the Nigadoo River, hence the name "Nigadoo," which means hiding place or refuge.

The Nigadoo River is a picturesque site where one can enjoy swimming and fishing. Along its bank, in the Vieux Moulin Park, you will notice the remains of an old mill dating back to the 19th century.
